What do you wear to events?
It depends on the type of event! For an indoor corporate event, I'd wear a traditional suit. I have a variety of options. For an outdoor summertime corporate event, I typically wear a linen jacket with suit pants to save myself when it's hot. Occasionally a client requests that I rent a tuxedo, which I am happy to do.
We booked you for last year's party. Will you have new tricks for us this year?
You can bet on it! I'm constantly rolling out new material and I keep a pretty detailed log of what I did at each booking- that way I can ensure I'm not repeating anything when I book repeat clients. However, some of my heavy-hitter magic tricks are often requested by repeat clients when they have new guests in attendance! It's pretty flattering when the host brings a new guest over to me and requests "can you do the such and such trick for her that you did at our last party?"
Are you open to traveling to an event?
Most of my work happens in the Plano / Dallas-Fort Worth area, but I am more than happy to travel anywhere in the world for your Corporate Event. I fly out to 2-3 events per month so I'm comfortable living out of a suitcase, and occasionally I'll drive if I'm performing somewhere nearby like Louisiana or Oklahoma. Applying for my TSA Recheck number was such a great decision because of how frequently I fly.
What exactly is a mentalist?
It's not every day that you meet a mentalist, or a corporate mentalist for that matter. So what do I do? Well, I like to say that I use all five of my senses to give the illusion of a sixth. I heard it somewhere a long time ago and can't quite remember where! Everyone's heard of a magician who does sleight of hand tricks or card tricks, but a mentalist entertains people with tricks that are more psychological based, like mind reading tricks! It's a lot of fun for all types of events.
